Pavena Foundation and Police force raided two locations that accommodated for Uzbekistan women, who were victims of a human trafficking crime.

Pattaya, 19 May 2011 [PDN]: Pavena Foundation and Police Suppression of Human Trafficking conducted a warranted search at two rooms: room 182 on 8th floor in Karhn Keha Building and room 499/27 on third floor of Jomtien Plaza Residence.

Twelve women were found in these rooms but three Uzbekistan managers were still in hiding, the police said.
The prostitutes were believed to be victims of a human trafficking crime where innocent Uzbekistan women were threatened into the sex business, the police said.

According to the President of Pavena Foundation for Children and Women, she discovered the Uzbekistan human trafficking from Anna, one of the victims who contacted her for help.

On 17 May Anna visited Pavena Foundation after her Thai customer, who had heard her story gave her 3,500 Baht and advised her to contact Pavena.

Anna told Pavena that her friend, Camilla (or real named Zoyirova Zumrath) had deceived her into prostitution.

Camilla called Anna and offered her a job at a restaurant in Pattaya with high income while promising to pay for Anna’s working visa and transportation, Pavena added.

However, when Anna arrived in Pattaya, an Uzbekistan manager, Guria picked her up and arranged for her to have sex with customers.

When Anna refused, Guria has threatened to kill her, Pavena added.

Later on Guria convinced Anna into the business by explaining to her the payment received by a service girl, who earned around $6000 per month excluding 1,000 Baht/day accommodation rental and 9,000 Baht/month payment to the police.

Anna told Pavena that three other women and she were taken to Walking Street everyday by Guria, who negotiated prices with the customers. Prices varied from 1000-1500 Baht for a short service to 4000-5000 Baht for an overnight service. Guria also arranged for the women to be taken to the customer’s accommodation.

These women were required to work for around 6-7 rounds a day, seven days a week without any days off, Pavena said.

For example, at the beginning of May when Anna requested some days off to visit her ill mother, the managers sent 4-5 Thai men to beat her up before threatening to kill her if she asked for further leaves, Pavena continued.

The police continued their investigation to find the managers responsible for the Uzbekistan prostitution business and bring them to justice.
