Pattaya, 1 May 2011 [PDN]: At 3.30 p.m., Jomtien and Pattaya people celebrate national Labour Day holiday at the beach.
Thailand’s national Labour Day on 1 May is a significant day for Thai workers whose hard labour and contribution are recognised and honoured on this day.
Jomtien and Pattaya beaches are popular locations for Thai workers to celebrate Labour Day.

Numerous deck chairs have been extended at certain points along the 3-kilometre sands to accommodate for both Thai workers and their families. Some even lay their own mats when the chairs are all filled. The adults enjoy each other’s company with their cheerful singing, eating and drinking, while children swim in the sea or play on the sands.
The atmosphere at Jomtien and Pattaya beaches becomes very vibrant and uplifted, as people rejoice by the seashore.
The police patrol the beach areas keeping eyes on misbehaved visitors while joining in on the celebration as well.
