Pattaya, 2 April 2011 [PDN]: At 2:30 a.m., Police General Lieutenant, Chuangchote Mongkolthanayuth, Inspecting Officer of Pattaya Police Department was informed that several foreigners had been drugged and robbed at Rooms 540-546 on 5th Floor of Diamond Beach Hotel (located at Pattaya No.2 Road, opposite to Walking Street, Moo.10, South Pattaya, Nongprue, Chonburi). The police hurried to the crime scene.

At the scene, the police discovered four Indian nationals, appeared intoxicated, while the other, identified as Mr. Mandeep Singh, 32, was unconscious.

Mr. Mandeep Singh was rushed to the hospital. Glasses of liquor, cans of soda and used condoms were found in the room.

One of the victims testified that at around 9 p.m. five of them met a Thai prostitute at the beach. She offered to give them sexual services for 1,000 Baht. They accepted and agreed to meet her at Diamond Beach Hotel. Upon arrival, the Thai woman offered them soda and liquor drinks.

The victims reported that they fell unconscious after consuming the drinks. After regaining consciousness, the Indians discovered that the woman was missing along with their suitcase containing 6,000 Baht and USD $1000.

The police believed that the Indians were apparently drugged. The hotel cashier told the police the suspect was known as Ms. Maliwan Poksanit, aged 28 (resides at No.105, Moo.5, Kammuang, Kaosuankwang, Khon Kaen). She also witnessed the suspect running out of the room with the suitcase
