Pattaya, 17th March 2011 [PDN]: At 9.30 p.m., Police Captain Kriengsak Boonprawat and other police officers arrested Mrs. Janthida Limsawat, aged 30 (resides at 144/212 Moo.4, Huaynua, Khukhan, Srisaket). The arrest took place in front of Carrefour Department Store, Middle Pattaya (Moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi). The police planned a secret operation in which an undercover foreigner offered 2,000 Baht to the suspect’s 14-year-old daughter, Ms. Karn (unknown real name), in exchange for sexual service.
Upon interrogation, the suspect denied that she had forced her daughter into this job and that her daughter was doing it at her own will. The suspect explained that she had moved to Pattaya to work as a beer-bar girl after her divorce. Then Ms. Karn, her daughter moved in to live with her about two weeks ago when she decided to stop further study after her Grade 6 graduation in Srisaket. Ms. Karen wanted to work like her mother, who refused for her to do so. However, Ms. Karn managed to work behind her mother’s back until her mother eventually gave in and became a mediator for her.
The mother admitted that her action was unlawful and unethical and that she would be very ashamed if her relatives found out about it. Mrs. Janthida regretted that she could not provide a better care for her daughter. The mother admitted to all charges.

The daughter confessed that she was alone responsible for her own action. She wanted to earn an income for herself so that she would not become a financial burden on her mother’s shoulders.
Police Captain, Kreingsak stated that the suspect’s behavior was guilty based on both legal and moral standards. He believed that parents should teach their children right from wrong to prevent them from becoming social victims. The mother was charged with child trafficking for prostitution. The daughter was sent to children social services.

I totally agree... well said my friend
Are you willing to lock up 200,000 to 2,000,000 (the "trafficking" bleeding hearts' number is 2,000,000 in Thailand) mothers?
If not, let this one go. The girl needs a mother more than her mother needs a lesson in what is socially, yet secretly, accceptable in Thai society - almost EVERY girl in protitution starts at 13 to 14 years of age, even younger according to my former girlfriend's accounts.
Being a prostitot, do you not think most foster homes in Thailand won't exploit this little moneymaker?
Give the kid back to her mother, or you'll have a real problem with her in a few years.
And i could´nt blame them i would do the same. Working for 7k a month not really an option :(
I guess Mommy works in the go-go, so why can't I?
Monkey see...Monkey do, Literally.
