“Joe Walking” Arrested

“Joe Walking” , who produces all kinds of counterfeit drugs for sale to foreign drug users habitors has been arrested at Pattaya Pub. He is the adopted son of a well-known money changer with several booths in Pattaya and confessed that he has been selling fake drugs like this for a long time without being caught.

Pattaya, 6th March 2011[PDN] : At 2 pm, a team led by Capt. Somchai Chaikhananukul, Pattaya Police, Chonburi, arrested Mr. Krit Jittree; 25 years old, known as “Jo k Walking.” He is a merchant who manufactures and sells imitation drugs. While he was distributing the drugs to local and foreign tourists in front of Fair Family Mart; opposite Insomnia Pub and Disco; Walking Street, South Pattaya, Moo 10, Tambon Nong Prue, Banglamung, Chonburi; police seized him kinds of drugs; Ya Ba, Ya Ice, Ya E, Ya Love, Cocaine, Heroin, packed in clear plastic bags and divided into separate lots for further sale. Officials arrested and took him to Pattaya Police Station for further questioning and subsequent prosecution.

Mr.Krit said that all drugs which had been seized were imitations of real drugs. He received orders through friends and sold them to his customers, who are mostly foreign tourists wanting to obtain drugs. He would sell them at the pub telling his customers that they are real original drugs because they look the same as the genuine product. It could not be established visually whether the drugs were fake or real. His customers had many wishes that he was able to satisfy.

Having supplied them, he would hurry away immediately because he was afraid that the customers would discover that they had been given fakes. They could have followed him angrily and hurt him. Most would be sold to a customer’s order at prices starting from 200-500 baht.

This has been his job for a long time because it shows a very good profit for a small investment. On the downside, there is always the risk of being arrested by the police and of being attacked by angry customers for selling them fake drugs. This is the first time he has been caught.
