Around mid-day on the 9th February 2011 Police General Nantawut Suwanlaorng, Police Officials Pattaya received complaints from Mr. Jestin Elekjoseph, 28, and Mr. Johnny Wittel ,28, both Canadian magazine models, along with their friends, Mr. Keri Chill 27, Ms. Tida Thannawan 45, Ms. Sopa Thanawan 43, Ms. Nuarat Samsaen 43. The 3 Thai women are known as hi-so business owners of a famous restaurant and jewellery business in Pattaya said they had been tricked and attacked by the owners, managers and staff of a go-go bar resulting in personal injury.
Ms Tida Thanawan said that at about 02.00 a.m. on the 5th February, she took her friends out for a drink at the entertainment venue “super girls a-go-go” on Walking Street Moo 10 Nongphrue Banglamung Chonbrui . Her friends comprised a group of 7 including the magazine models. At 03.15 the manager came to the group of friends to tell them that the bar was closing. However they hadn’t finished their beer and Ms Tida asked to sit a little longer, making the manager angry and led him to shout at her.

Ms Tida said that an argument evolved, as she thought it impertinent of a manager to treat a customer that way and, as she had brought her foreign friends, the manager should be making a better impression so that they would come back to Thailand as tourists. After Ms Tida made her complaints the manager said ” I don’t care how big you are around here, I am the mafia. Not even the police dares to mess with me and my people. Who the hell do you think you are?”. After Ms. Tida had heard this she and her friends decided to leave the bar.

After they walked out of the entrance of the bar, about 5 girls rushed after her and pulled her to the ground and attacked her. When her friends tried to help her, other men punched them. There were about 20 people attacking her and her friends. She almost passed out on the side of the road, injured with swollen wounds and lesions. They also threatened to get their guns. When she and her friends recovered from the shock of the attack, they helped each other to Bangkok hospital, Pattaya.
Mr. Jestin and Mr. Johnny both of them magazine models, victims of the a-go-go bar attack, said they made their way here for a shooting and a show on the 16th February in Bangkok. However they got involved in the incident and received wounds before the show and shooting, which meant they were not able to do the job anymore and lost over 8500,000 Baht. Besides the injuries they said they also felt sad as this was their first time in Pattaya, and it had turned out like this.
Police General Nantawut Suwanlaorng said: at first he would let investigation officials question those involved. In this case the police will be fair to both sides and issue a summons to the parties litigant, they will however carry out further investigation in order to continue legal proceedings
After that Mr. Phrasopchodee Ansuechai, 51, residing at 6 Moo 5 Nongprueh Banglamung Chonburi , the manager of the a-go-go bar to handed himself in and confessed that he had caused the incident. He stated that the claim of 20 attackers was an exaggeration and that there only 5 were involved. They will also hand themselves in later. The reason for the beating was that they had been provoked. The police charged him with assault causing personal injury, and further legal proceedings will follow.

I know and have seen quite a few Farang beaten badly by groups of Thai's [usually bar staff] for almost nothing. Sometimes they may have been a bit drunk, and just needed ejecting from a bar or wherever or just told to leave, but often after a severe beating ironically it is them that are usually made to apologize to the owner! [shouldn't it be the bar owner apologizing for his staffs actions?]
...often these people could easily have been killed, and in a civilized country the attackers would serve a few years in prison.
In this Pattaya story the customers were already leaving, so why the attack?
The fact is 'under the surface', lots of Thai people are very violent and most do not like Farang, and most have suppressed emotions, then they explode over something small, acting like a pack of dogs.
How many Farang 'jump' off balconies?
How many 'drown'?
How many times do Thai's that are friends kill each other over a game of cards?
Has anyone seen the ever more often violence between polytechnic students. [1 got killed in a 7/11 the other day]
There are many Farang living here retired or in city jobs in Bangkok that have no idea of what's really happening in other parts of Thailand. I would say probably 90% of extremely violent crime against Farangs doesn't even get recorded, only blamed on the Farang, or gets passed off as something else, and believe me after 15 years here it is getting worse.
The staff in these bars totally irritate customers by coming over and lifting your beer after 5 minutes to see how much you have left. I mean how rude is that?..and then they get pissed off when the Farang doesn't like it, sometimes leading to violence.
Or Tuk-Tuk / taxi drivers get pissed off when you ignore them or tell them to leave you alone. Obviously they are oblivious to the fact that they are harassing and annoying the hell out of you, and again they get angry if you confront them.
If you live a family life in a middle-class environment then usually you will avoid any problems, but isn't that the same in any country?....If you like to party sometimes, then Thailand can be serious trouble.
Or better yet, hire an editor who knows how to proofread.
And guns at super girl a go go...My question is why they delay their visit to the police station until midday if everithing happens arround 3 am? Maybe they need time to be able to speak after alcohol effects
I have never come across owners of bars or entertainment establishments
being anything but very polite to their customers
What you meant is real men don't need to go to Go-Go bars. Right? hahaha
I'd think there was quite a lot of "do you know who I am ?" shit flying about.
Hi-So try to show off their power and get kicked in their teeth (finally).
Bar mob let their frustrations fly over trickling business thanks to the reds and yellows out there.
Police will litigate (speak who ever pays more to the men in brown wins).
TIT
Male models make nowhere near that kind of cash.....female supermodels on the other hand....
At the end of the day, the Manager shud've just given the customers a couple more minutes to finish their drinks....
Parts of Pattaya are looking good, but unfortunately for tourism, it's always going to be known as a danger spot.
Just like the Jet ski scam is going on since YEARS, without anything happening to the criminals operating and cashing in from and with these gangs.
Bloody poofs 2 real men would have given some of a hiding back to the mob , not just taken it .
I think what they meant to say was...super angry boys with tits bar operated by local gangster. There are no super girls in Pattaya.
