Pattaya, 21st Decemeber 2010 (PDN) : On Tuesday at the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks at the Royal Garden Plaza, Pattaya Mayor Ithiphon Khunpluem presided over the opening ceremony of a competition to find Thailand’s best “real time” wax sculptor. The five contestants had just 24 hours to create a lifelike wax sculpture of a real person, to be judged by a panel of celebrities including the famous presenter Woody Milintjinda, who also found himself modelling for one of the competitors. The artists included specialists from Silipakorn University, Faculty of fine Arts and the College Of Engineering and Culture and gave them the opportunity to display their talents to the world.


The competition was won by 28-year-old Mister Anun Chaechua, who collected a prize of 100,000 baht.
An award of excellency was given to Mr. Krisana Napunpol, and another one for ‘most outstanding’ was won by Mr. Aphisak Thonginn.
The winner’s wax scuplture will be placed on permanent display at the waxworks, which is the 5th branch of the franchise, the first to be opened in Thailand and the only one in South-East Asia.
