3 Months Pregnant Woman Hangs Herself over Unfaithful Swedish Husband

A three months pregnant Thai woman hung herself in Pattaya, after leaving behind an unfaithful husband in Sweden.

Pattaya, 7 December 2010 (PDN): At 4.00pm on Tuesday Pattaya Police Investigator Lieutenant Phitak Nernsaeng was notified that a Thai woman had hung herself at a house in Central Pattaya. A police team and the Sawang Boriboon Foundation volunteers were dispatched to the house located at 221/1, Soi AR, Central Pattaya, Moo9, Norngprue, Banglamung

Inside the 2-storeyhouse, in front of the bathroom on 2nd floor, they discovered the deceased body of Miss Maneewan Pholthaisong [27] from Udon Thani. She had hung herself with some electric cable tied to a ventilator. An orange sofa had been placed nearby. She was wearing a brown shirt and grey shorts and it was estimated she’d been dead for about 1 day. There was no sign of an assault, and officers were informed that Miss Maneewan was more than 3 month’s pregnant.

The deceased’s aunt, Mrs. Orrathai Wiwatthana [39], told police that her niece had a Swedish husband and they had been living in Sweden for 3 years. She was three months pregnant when she found out her husband was having an affair with a Swedish woman causing them to have a serious quarrel, after which she decided to travel alone back to Thailand. The deceased frequently told her about her relationship problems, but when she hadn’t from her for a while, decided to go and call on her to ask her out for a meal. She subsequently discovered her niece’s dead body and informed the police.

Officials presume that Miss Maneewan was distraught from the problems with her husband and made the tragic decision to hang herself. The deceased’s body was released to relatives for the funeral ceremony.

What a horrible chain of events. Poor girl.Their marriages to thai men fall apart so they give up and try and get a life and financial security with a foreign man. It rarely works.
