Under-fire German National Collapses Dead in Pattaya

A German national in the midst of an ongoing court case pertaining to child sex accusations has died in unknown circumstances while riding his motorbike in South Pattaya on Sunday.

Pattaya, the 17th of October 2010 [PDN]: On Sunday, Pattaya police were notified of an accident involving a foreign man in Soi Buakao South Pattaya.

According to the police report, the man, now known to be Dr. Malter (alias) [52], was riding his motorbike in Soi Buakao South Pattaya when he appeared to collapse off the bike in unknown circumstances. Dr. Malter was subsequently rushed to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital by witnesses at the scene, where he was later confirmed dead.

Witnesses at the scene reported the Dr. Malter did not appear to have crashed with anything or be travelling at an excessive speed, one witness explaining “he simply collapsed off the bike.”

Dr. Malter was in the midst of a court case in Pattaya, after he was arrested by Child & Women Protection Police on the 2nd of October, accused of having procured the sexual services of underage women.

Arrested based solely on the accusations of a convicted child prostitution agent, scorned by the deceased when he and his wife had refused to loan her money, Dr. Malter had subsequently posted Bt300,000 in bail and was in the process of forming his case with a local attorney at the time of his death.

Dr. Malter’s body has since been sent to the Forensic Science Institute for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death will be performed. The German Embassy has been informed of the death.

Rip Dude. As I'v said many times. Don't go to Pattaya. Let the farlang hating Thais starve.Only when farlang stop going to Pattaya will it change.Maybe. There are many other places to go in Thailand that are alot safer.
My personal view is that any farlang that goes to Pattaya deserves what he gets. He must be low class same the Thai people that live there.

Yes, julie is correct in that I also think he was set up. Yes, he was not a medical Dr. But a Doctor (PHD) in Mechanical Engineering I think.

My gut feeling is that he was a good guy, taken advantage of for easy money.
How much more can farangs take of this nonsense perpertrated by low-lifes.

I just came back from a 6 week holiday in pattaya, last time i stayed 2005 and visited pattaya 8 times since 12 years and i think this time was the last time.

Too much BS going on and with the recent crackdown on poor isaan girls in gogo bars and beachroad it is more and more becoming a big joke rather than a sextourist destination.
I visit pattaya not because of it´s lovely beaches and clean water.

Keep up the good work pattaya police and farang chose other destinations in SA Asia same me.

To teo:I spoke to him on Saturday and he was healty and full of good spirite (heart attack can be rule out).
to PDN: on the 14.10.2010 he report to the court and wanted to fight his case in the court.even PDN and the police already convicted him without ruling of the court on 02.10.2010.
to Julie: you are right he was framed and set up, nomally people who have done wrong will pay their way out, but he didn't do anything wrong, so he decided to fight the case in court and that was something the accuser didn't expected.
For everyone involved is the case closed, but for me I miss my friend and for his parent they miss their child! thanks you Thai-police and PDN that give me and his familie such a painful time.
