Arriving at the scene, a first floor room at the ‘Sugreeya Apartments’ in Soi Bongkot, South Pattaya, officers found the deceased body of Mr. David Roberts [59], a British national. At the time of his death, Mr. Roberts was lying naked on his bed.
Apartment employees explained that Mr. Roberts had been living at the complex for many years, stating that he was regularly seen sitting on his balcony by cleaning staff and was a friendly man.
His death was discovered after staff, having not observed him on the balcony for several days, went to check if he was alright, finding him lying dead on his bed before informing authorities.
Officers investigating the scene explained that there were no signs of a struggle or search of his room and that Mr. Roberts had more than likely died of an unknown degenerative or congenital disease.
The deceased has now been sent to the Forensic Science Institute were a post-mortem examination will be conducted, while authorities have contacted the British Embassy over the death.
