Pattaya, the 9th of October 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 11:00pm on Saturday, Lieutenant Colonel Choosak Kaytong (Crime Suppression Special Unit officer) and his team conducted a sting operation at the Soho Bar (A-Go-Go) on Soi 6, off Pattaya Beach Road.
In similar circumstances to Thursday’s raid on the Mandarin Bar, officers using a foreign national as an undercover agent infiltrated the Soho Bar, after reports surfaced that the establishment may be offering prostitution services by way of ‘short-time’ rooms located above the main bar.
Following the setup, whereby the undercover agent requested and paid for the use of the aforementioned sexual services, officers raided the premises and arrested eight women, including the bar manager, Mrs. Pornsawan Iammala [33].
The seven arrested staff/Go-Go dancers were found to be all under 20-years-of-age, while Mrs. Iammala reluctantly confessed to being the owner and manager of the establishment. Police investigating the incident were reluctant to provide the media with any information pertaining to evidence confiscated in the raid other than the information of those arrested.

The seven employees of the establishment have been charged with ‘prostitution and/or aiding in the prostitution of others’, while Mrs Iammala has been charged with being the ‘owner/manager of an illegal prostitution business’.
Editor’s Note: As with the case of the Mandarin Bar earlier this week, the officers involved in the raid are part of the Bangkok – Crime Suppression Special Unit – Police. This may constitute a show of force by the unit undermining local authorities and/or promoting the new commander of the national division. High-ranking Royal Thai Police officers are rotated in their positions on a yearly basis (every October), including divisional heads.

This means they need a "payoff" to supplement an income which is illegal but accepted in Thailand.
New guys need a way to payoff their expensive cars or homes.
"jackmehoff" it is not only underage girls doing this . . .walk along Beachroad and you can see them in all ages.Grandmothers are also selling their stuff . . . calling all sexualdeviants is a little strong . . . . considering that the farangsegment of this market is under 15% of this industry.Closing down all such bars will be impossible.Drugs are being used by others and not only bargirls.Lorrydrivers use jaba so they can drive all day to support their family . . . . teenagers that has never even talked to farang . . . Thai teenagers use that shitt every day.The Thai police doing their job ?? that is as easy to fix as stopping the oldest proffesion in the world . . . . this is NOT only a Thai problem.Sex is on sale in every country in the world.
Thailand, do yourselves some good and CLOSE ALL of these nasty places.. you know, ENFORCE the law!!! Would send all the garbage back to their home countries, it would STOP the drug trade (#1 reason is to supply the working girls) and would STOP pedophelia... ALL good things if the goverment would enforce the darn law...
Just look at these pitiful looking girls. Who in their right minds would want any type of sex with them? Just desperate farangs with nothing but insecurity and low self esteem. Yuk!!! You actually come all the way from the UK and Germany etc. for this?
Then some of you will buy them houses or send them money each month....Hahahahahahahhaahha to show how insecure you really are.
Very sad.
LOL
The reality is that the BiB are jostiling for power. Plain & simple. Without sex tourism, Thailand would be dead, it's the sad reality. AND if anyone thinks that the Baht is strong because it's a great currency, then think again. The Baht is doing exactly what the US admninistration want it to do MOREVOER, Thailand elite get more bang of their baht when spending abroad - WIN-WIN for Thai Elites again ;0)
Time for these places to start giving the gals credit card machines for payment of services rendered(no marked bills)....LOL!!!. Might be a little hard explaining the monthly statement to the wife though.
Let's just hope they all shoot each other.
The Police are doing this the Thai way.helping out the shorttime hotels and smaller bars that rents out rooms . . . they are by the looks of things only targetting Bars where the girl in the same bar as the rooms they go to to do their work.Trying to do their job by enforcing Thai law does not seem to concern any policeoffer as the sale of sex goes on as usuall right under the Polices nose . . . . Buisness as usuall in sin city.
let's us work for a clean pty.
we need it,we dream it.
if u dont like it,just move to soi 7
or soi 8.
and if u are not over 60 let's walk till soi 2.
KEEP WALKING Lol Lol
Lt Colonel Jordan
PROSTITUTION IS ILLEGAL IN THAILAND!!! BE AWARE FOREIGNERS YOU MIGHT END UP IN THE SLAMMER!!!
As for the police good job but I think you can do better. It is time that all the human rights groups get together and attack this problem in Thailand CLOSE ALL THE SEX BARS!!! As for the concerns of the foreigners about the amount of tourists here don't worry about Thailand this is not your country let the government deal with their problems. Thailand keeps shooting themselves in the foot. The reason no one is coming here is because Thailand has lost face in the International Community. The foreign currencies are weak and the Baht remains strong. Good luck to Thailand. Oh and by the way all the people on overstay good luck to you and Thailand remember if you are going to make laws why don't you enforce them instead of lining your dirty greedy pockets with money start doing your job.
shutting down bars in Bangkok just to get even.
Probably using the same Farang snitch as well...
to Cambodia, what else has pattaya got without places like soi6?it's hardly a place of beauty and tranquility
No one in his right mind would bring a family to Pattaya when there are so many prettier places to go. Keep Pattaya like it is, a paradise for old geezers.
It's probably just another ploy to prevent the Isaan from acquirng and accumulating Foreign Financial Aid contributions.
