German Arrested in Pattaya over Child Abuse Accusations

On Friday Child & Woman Protection police arrested a German national in Pattaya using a warrant gained after accusations of his sexual relations with a child under 13 years old was presented to authorities.

Pattaya, the 1^st of October 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 9:30pm on Friday, Lieutenant Colonel Kreetha Tonkanarat (Child Children & Women Protection Center Superintendent) along with Child Protection Committee officials and local police served an arrest warrant on Dr. R.G.M Malter [52], a German national.

Serving the warrant issued by Pattaya Provincial Court on the 30^th of September, authorities arrested Dr. Malter at his Soi Chaiyapruk residence in Jomtien, based on accusations from Ms. Jaruwan Yothee, a convicted child prostitution agent, that she supplied him with children for sexual purposes.

Ms. Yothee stated that Dr. Malter had been a former customer of her underage prostitution services, despite his marriage (unconfirmed legality) to a Thai woman. Police found that Dr. Malter was a qualified doctor and currently worked as an engineering consultant for a reputable vehicle manufacturing company at the Amata Nakhon Industrial Estate in Chon-Buri.

Lt. Col. Tonkanarat revealed that in addition to Friday’s arrest of Dr. Malter authorities had also been led to the arrest of another foreign national, Mr. Brian White [45], an American residing in Sathorn district, Bangkok.

At present, Dr. Malter has denied all allegations, stating that Ms. Yothee had made the accusations after both he and his wife had refused to lend her money. Allegedly, Ms. Yothee had been a friend of his wife and the pair had lent her money, without repayment, on several occasions in the past but had refused her most recent request due to her outstanding debts.

Dr. Malter has now appeared before police with a representative from the Lawyer’s Council Committee (Mr. Chodeuk Chokekumjorn), he has subsequently asked the media for anonymity based on his report to police.

everywhere,i myself was arrested by the police and taken to pattaya soi9 for hitting a Thai girl,witch i am not very proud of,i expected to pay a lot of money to get out but it cost me nothing,i was back on the streets with my passport 20 Min's after my arrest,even low i admitted hitting her,that shows the police don't always take the word of the accuser,Thai police made a judgement call on mitigating circumstances.

to popeye; I don't understand why convicted need a defence, just accuser need defence. With all the fotos and data of the accused person on the news, you already convicted them. Why is it so easy to get an arrest warrant without check, because the arrest warrant was granted on the 30.sept.10 on the day Ms.Yothee was arrested, how did she convicted? Without ruling? Who is the judge? If she was arrest and convicted by the court of law in 1 day, then this should be the fastes ruling in the world.

Good to hear opinions from many guys. I am the police who arrested Dr.Roland and Mr.Brian. I would like to tell anyone who don't understand and don't know the fact of this case. Ms.yotee was arrested on 30 sep 10 and she is in the jail with 4 hard allegation.
The detail of this case I will not show to the public because it is useful for the convict to defend.If someone want to talk with me can contact me by e-mail or if I free from work I will contact you .May be we will have meeting.I hope it can change your opinion about Thai police.
It is the fact that in every orgagnization always have bad guy.But may be your opinion is not good for good guy in that organization.

of child abuse against a falang is a sure way of getting it because of the stigma attached to it,even innocent guys will pay to make it go away if they can afford it,i suspect the boys in brown have done there home work on Dr Malter
and discovered he is affluent.

Every Farang is now a target and according to today's news paper every farang Thai bank account is under the watchful eye from the (B of T) Just for unusual transactions just to see how much money they can get from you.

This Lady was convicted for a very bad crime and now she will take down every farang she can guilty or not.
Why would the Police Even consider her for any testimony. unless someone is making money from farang.

Sure if the accusations are substantiated, hang him from a gibbet and cut his testicles off..But at least get the soddin woman on a lie detector etc, before issuing an arrest warrant!

Check with the German authorities, if the guy had either previous convictions or accusations in Germany etc as well!

If the CONVICTED, female supplier of children for prostitution, is found to be lying then she should get an extra 12 months in the clink! Infact why isn't she in jail???? Cos the Thai police are rotten to the core and will have goy a years supply of 'tea money', if she helps them with erroneous convictions!..Just an opinion but its mine...
