Pattaya Teen Dies in Accidental Pen-Gun Shooting to the Face

A 17-year-old boy has died on Tuesday evening, after being rushed to hospital having shot himself in the face with an illegal pen-gun, according to witness accounts.

Pattaya, the 28^th of September 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 8:30pm on Tuesday, Lieutenant Colonel Nitipoom Bootwong (Banglamung Police Investigator) was notified by the Banglamung Hospital of the admission of a teenager suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. A team of officers were dispatched to investigate.

At the scene, in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Banglamung Hospital, officer found the now deceased body of Mr. Sutthisak Yothapan [17]. Doctor’s explained that Mr. Yothapan had been admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the face, dying before police attended the scene. The projectile had become lodged in his brain after having entered through the right side of his nose.

Investigators interrogated a friend of the deceased, Mr. Krisna Kongsri [21], who was a witness to the incident and had transported Mr. Yothapan to the hospital. Mr. Kongsri explained that he and another friend had been drinking at Mr. Yothapan’s residence in Soi Baan Rong Poh, Ta Kien Tia when the incident occurred.

Allegedly, Mr. Yothapan had asked to have a look at a pen-gun that Mr. Kongsri had in his possession, the gun, unbeknownst to Mr. Yothapan was loaded. Inspecting the small weapon, Mr. Yothapan accidentally pulled the trigger shooting himself in the face. His two friends immediately rushed him to the hospital, where he later died.

Initial medical examination of the deceased confirmed the friends accounts of the incident, officers have however charged Mr. Kongsri with illegal possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm in a public place without authorisation.

A post-mortem examination will now be carried out on the deceased before his body is released to family for funeral proceedings.

much bad news here in pattaya news today and i am thinking these pen guns lethal projectiles can emit deadly usefulness for muderous weapon in small package and if these bad fellows are using the pen in such a manner death and tragedically circumstances are certain to cause greviously bodily functions against nature and the 17 year old will have mother and father much concerned and feeling sinking in pit of stomach for son lie on slab of marble for doctors to chop and look inside and discover death from bullet and they will cry out loud why are they selling such weapons open sesame on street corner to every monkey business man who like the brave feeling of lethal entities with macho show off in swagger and with brain injury death will come quickly because this is vital organ for life and extinction must occur or else the body will vegetate like a peeled onion and i believe now he will be rolled up into a ball and placed with grief into the wat of fire at local homestead placement somewhere here in the pattaya regions

Why are these and other lethal weapons allowed to be bought and sold openly?
Same applies to knuckle dusters flick knives and kung fu stars.
All this kind of paraphernalia should be banned with serious consequences to the vendors as well as the buyer.
