Nadal to Relax in Hua Hin ahead of Saturdays Thailand Open

World number one men’s tennis superstar Rafael Nadal arrived in Bangkok on Tuesday, planning a few days of rest in Hua Hin before commencement of the highly anticipated Thailand Open on Saturday.

Thailand, the 22nd of September 2010: Looking fatigued after a long-haul flight from Spain the recent US Open champion was inundated by Thai media, fans at Bangkok airport before being whisked away to an unnamed resort in Hua Hin.

Met by executives of the Thailand Tennis Open, Nadal was presented with a necklace of traditional Thai flowers and welcomed by hundreds of adoring fans as he passed through the airport terminal.

This is the first year the Nadal will compete at the Thailand Open, after being scheduled to appear at last years event before pulling out with an abdominal injury after the US Open.

Recent, first-time, winner of the US Open at Flushing Meadows, Nadal will now enjoy a few days rest and relaxation at a five-star resort in Thailand’s central seaside resort of Hua Hin.

Also scheduled to appear at this year’s Thailand Open is 2009 US Open winning Argentine Juan Martin del Porto and Chilean Fernando Gonzalez.

The open will start on Saturday September 25 with the final to be held on October 3rd. The official opening, scheduled for the 30th of September will be presided over by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

Following the Thai tournament, Nadal will travel to China to compete at the Shanghai Masters.

Relax in Hua hin ? unless he plays golf,no reason to go there.the beach is crap,by thailand standards.maybe he can go relax at lolita's while he's in town hahaha
