Pattaya, the 21st of September 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 10:00am on Tuesday, Lieutenant Colonel Weerawat Meelai (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of a foreigner’s death after his collapse on Koh Larn. The Pattaya Marine Relief team had transported the tourist to a hospital in Pattaya where he was later pronounced dead.
According to police reports, the deceased, of Chinese nationality, had collapsed at the ‘Chimphlee’ seafood restaurant on Koh Larn’s Ta Waen Beach before being transported via the Pattaya Marine Relief Team to the Bali Hai Pier.

Officers attending the scene, Bali Hai Pier point B, interrogated Miss Chailampha Jarernthungsillapacheep [43], a local tour guide who had been involved with a tour of 19 Chinese tourists including the deceased.
Miss Jarernthungsillapacheep explained that the tour had stopped at the ‘Chailampha’ seafood restaurant for lunch when the deceased collapsed onto the ground in unknown circumstances. She explained that fellow tourist assisted him out of the restaurant where he was later transported to the hospital for immediate treatment by rescue services.
Reportedly dying on route to the hospital, the deceased has now been sent for a post-mortem examination at the Forensic Science Institute. Officer investigating the death are now attempting to obtain the mans identity from his hotel at which point they will notify the Chinese embassy of the incident.
