Infamous Dutch Property Mogul Arrested Again in Pattaya

Dutch property mogul and habitual offender Mr. Robert Henry Johannes Dahan has again been arrested in Pattaya, this time over allegations he and an associate made numerous death threats against a former business partner.

Pattaya, the 16^th of September 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 2:00pm on Thursday, Lieutenant Colonel Khuanphichai Manojarernsap (Suppression Special Unit Officer) and a team of officers raided a house in Soi Kaowtalo with an arrest warrant for the apprehension of Mr. Dahan, a Dutch national and local property mogul.

The warrant for Mr. Dahan’s arrest was issued after Mr. Chaiwat Lomakul, a former business partner, notified police of several threats against his life made by Mr. Dahan and his associate Mr. Winny (last name unknown). Both of the accused were successfully arrested in Thursday’s raid.

Along with being a former business partner of Mr. Dahan, Mr. Lomakul had previously won a defamation of character lawsuit against the accused, in which he was awarded Bt25 million in damages.

Resultant police checks on Mr. Dahan revealed him to be the owner of Dahan Co. Ltd, one of the largest property businesses operating in Chon-Buri and along the eastern seaboard. In addition to his court case with Mr. Lomakul, investigating officers revealed that Mr. Dahan had a significant history in regards to court cases in Pattaya.

At present, Mr. Dahan and his associate have been remanded in police custody over the death threat allegations, of which they continue to deny.

since when did Thai police start arresting people for making unconfirmed threats. Plus a defamation suit settled at 25m bt. I never heard of such cases for rich Thais, extorsion is alive and well for rich foreigners.

I got arrested for going in too a German mans office to complain that I would be taking him to court for work he has not done that i had payed 1.5 million bt for .I was in the office with my thai wife when I told him he went mad at me and threatened to kill me at this point i left.that evening I got a phone call from the police that I had to go to the station I went with a layer the man sed I had slapped him and threatened to kill him.I told the police my story witch they did not believe they put me in the cells for two days now I am on bail of 100,000 bt and i can't leave the country that was 18 months ago .I am in court in may 2011.P.S there were two other people in the shop at the time both collaborated my story.
