Pattaya, the 9th of September 2010 [PDN]: The vessel allegedly sank after the hull was breached significantly following a collision with a large piece of driftwood. All twenty-one people aboard the vessel had been issued lifejackets and where rescued shortly after the incident.
President of the Tourist Boat Association Sanit Boonmachai and a team of rescue officers attended to the incident, which occurred in the Pattaya Bay, between Bali Hai Pier and Koh Larn (Coral Island). The tour group had been returning to Pattaya following a brief diving trip to the nearby island of Koh Joon.
