United States, the 8th of September 2010: Landing safely at Los Angeles International Airport, Thai Airways Flight 794 was immediately met by the American FBI on a remote section of the U.S. airport.
The threat is believed to have been in the form of a written note on the bathroom mirrors of the transpacific flight. A flight attendant was reported to have found the warning, which is said to have been scrawled on the mirror in broken English and directly referenced and the presence of an explosive device on the flight.
Press releases from both Thai Airways and the FBI state that the situation was under control and that their was no evidence to suggest at present that the message was anything more than a hoax.
FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said airport officials were notified 45 minutes earlier of the alleged threat to Flight 794 also stating that the luggage on the plane will be screened and the passengers and crew were being interviewed by law enforcement officers.
At present, it is unconfirmed as to the future movement of the Thai Airways Airbus A340-500, which still remains cordoned of in an isolated area of the Los Angeles International Airport.
