Pattaya, the 4th of September 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 4:30am, Lieutenant Colonel Phatsa Detphakhul (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of a foreign death at the Rungfa Condominiums on Sukhumvit Road, Central Pattaya. A team of officers along with the Sawang Boriboon Foundation were dispatched to the incident to investigate.

On arrival at the scene, a 9th floor condominium, police discovered the deceased body of Mr. Jean Pierre Louis Delachat [73] lying face-up on the bed. Investigation of
the apartment revealed no signs of a struggle or search of the premises, while Mr. Delachat’s body did not appear to show any signs of an assault.
Investigation with condominium management revealed that Mr. Delachat had been a pleasant tenant of the complex with several friends in the building. He had reportedly lived in the area for approximately 10 years.
An unnamed source explained to PDN that Mr. Delachat had only returned from a visa run to the Cambodian border on Friday. On the trip, he had reportedly collapsed/fainted at the border before becoming quite ill on the return journey to Pattaya.
At present, officers speculate that Mr. Delachat had died of a heart attack, unknown chronic illness or congenital disease while alone in his room. The deceased’s body will now be sent to the Forensic Science Institute for a post-mortem examination before the Swiss Embassy is informed.

I don't know his financial position however a retirement visa would have saved him travelling to Cambodia every time he needed a visa renewal.
Not a bad innings Jean Pierre I hope to see you in about 37 years if I behave myself.
Anyway try to have a bit of compassion when somebody dies! It could be you or a member of your family next time!
Too bad those that noticed his illness did not take him to hospital. He was clearly having a heart attack under their very noses.
