Arrest of Evasive Female Thai Con Artist

Share
A Thai woman was finally arrested after evading an arrest warrant and coming to Pattaya to work as a ‘music copyright agent’, conning shop and bar owners out of thousands of baht.

Pattaya, 4th of September 2010 [PDN] Police Lieutenant Colonel Khuanphichai Manojarernsap (Suppression Special unit officer) and his undercover team held an arrest warrant number 3603/2552 signed on 31st of December 2009 (for charges of extortion) at Pattaya Police Station, for the arrest of a suspect Miss Sudarat Yaemsri (32) from Chiengmai who escaped arrest from Taopoon Police Satation in Bangkok to live in Pattaya, working as a music copyright agent for a music production company. The officers were able to arrest her whilst she led her party who were referred to as copyright agents, and take them to the Pattaya Police Station to mediate.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Khuanphichai Manojarernsap showed the arrest warrant to Miss Yaemsri, to which she denied all allegations and started yelling. She angrily threatened the reporters that if he printed news on her arrest, she would sue them. The officer then restrained the suspect to Taopoon Police Station to continue with proceedings.

The officer said that they had followed the suspects who worked as music copyright agents for many production companies called ‘copyright gang’. The gang, it was discovered, had threatened the operators in Pattaya over a long period of time and told shop owners, game shops and pubs that they were acting on behalf of the police asking them for money in exchange for overlooking their lack of copyrights permission. Finally, many victims informed the police of the gangs behavior which led to them investigating the gangs movements and their eventual arrest.

After Miss Yaemsri was arrested, the operators who were the victims immediately informed the police that they were caught by her on many occasions and threatened to pay 40,000 – 60,000 thousand baht each.

Beside Miss Yaemsri, there were many gang members who escaped, but officers will endeavor to catch them at a later date.

Put her in the monkey house and feed her soggy rice and fish heads, and she will spill the beans regarding the other members.

I've found that the word "irony" is mis-used way too often, even in the press. In this case, though, I'd have to say it fits - Thais conning Thais (?) on copyright infringement.

Nice.

LOL
Typical. Get busted doing something and then start yelling as if will make the problem of guilt go away.

Throw the key away on this broad.
