Thai Woman Rescued After Suicide Attempt on Pattaya Beach

A Pattaya woman who was upset due to her Italian boyfriends’ imminent return to his country ran into the sea in an attempt to end her life.

Pattaya, 2nd September 2010 [PDN] At 6.30 pm the Pattaya Police radio center was informed that a Thai woman had quarreled with her Italian boyfriend and ran into the sea to kill herself on Pattaya Beach, near Soi 7, Beach Road. Subsequently the officer and Sawang Boriboon Foundation team went to the scene to investigate.

On arrival, at the beach 700 meter from Pattaya Police Station, a large crowd had gathered watching an Italian National Mr. Famio (32) wearing only his underwear struggling to bring his Thai girlfriend ashore. A witness went out to assist him in carrying Miss Ke who was unconscious, out of the sea.

Mr. Famio and the witness rendered first aid with chest compressions. After regaining consciousness Miss Ke was transferred to Banglamung Hospital for treatment.

On interrogation, Mr. Famio claimed that he and his girlfriend sat on the beach and had a few drinks together. Miss Ke was upset that he was due to fly home to Italy the next morning. Drunk and without warning, she ran into the sea saying she wanted to die. Mr. Famio tried to catch her, but was unsuccessful. He swam around searching for her, later finding her unconscious body and carrying her out onto the beach.

Nobody has a suspect that the thai lady act was, surely stupid but, may be, sincerely stupid ?
May be more disillusion than love but, anyway, a depressing mood.
In the picture seems that she is not so healty or, may be, just acting a superb Shakespeare interpretation.
In occidental countries, lot of people commit suicide for similar stupid thinks.
Moreover, in the land where Mr. Famio comes from, people shoot each other for much more less in the love field…

That is true, but on the other hand how many of them actually try to improve themselves when they are out of the bar? There are plenty of girls who leave the bar for 3,4,5 years and never learn any skills... when the relationship ends they head right back to the bar the next day.

Additionally, there are some who cannot leave the bar as it is all they are mentally capable of doing. Sit around... drink, talk to friends, listen to music, go with customer, eat, sleep, watch TV...

Looks like when there is trouble people will gawk and wait for something to happen.

And I have to agree with some of the other posters... A lot of these women are either loony or just an inch from going over the edge.

I would not be surprised if there all the suicides in the city were not reported.
