Pattaya, the 2nd of September 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 12:45am on Thursday, Lieutenant Colonel Sukthat Phumpunmuang (Chon-Buri Gendarme Police Deputy Superintendent) and a team of investigators from the Thanya Buri Police Station instigated an arrest warrant at the Best Western Hotel in South Pattaya.

Arriving at the scene, officers swooped to arrest Mr. Pitak Thapmongkhol [18] who is wanted in connection with the 2004 attempted murder of Mr. Nopphanan Thana-atthawut in Thanya Buri, Pathum Thani. At the time of the incident, in which the victim was shot once in the chest from close range, Mr. Thapmongkhol had only been 12-years-old.
Following a six year investigation, officers discovered that Mr. Thapmongkhol had been fugitive in Pattaya since shortly after the incident, where he worked at the Best Western Hotel. Upon being presented with the arrest warrant, Mr. Thapmongkhol acknowledged that he was the person documented on the paper but has since denied any involvement in the attempted murder.

Police have since arrested and remanded Mr. Thapmongkhol in custody while investigations are continuing into his identification as the offender.

GIVE ME A BREAK !!!
I shake my head over and over again at the tactics of the Thai Police. I think they are all glory seakers and only want the notoriety that such an arrest or investigation could bring. Even if (IF) they have the right guy, he was 12 yrs. at the time of the offence. What is going to happen to him? He should be tried as a juvenile, right? But then TIT right? Good luck young man........
That is all.......
