Pattaya Police Close-in on Serbian Ayudhya ATM Bandits

Share
Thai authorities investigating the Bank of Ayudhya ATM robbery in Rayong on the 27th of August have begun to close-in on three foreign suspects, believed to be of Serbian nationality. The men are suspected to have stolen over Bt4 million in cash from the ATM, before dumping it in a Sattahip farm on the 28th of August.

Thailand, the 1st of September 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 1:00am on Wednesday, Major Thanitsak Theerasawad (Rayong Police Superintendent) along with Nunthawut Suwanla-ong (Pattaya Police Superintendent) and a team of officers, unveiled their progress in the Bank of Ayudhya ATM robbery investigations.

The Bank of Ayudhya ATM, stolen from the Krachade Bank branch in Rayong on the 27th of August, was found damaged, abandoned and devoid of all cash (approx. Bt4.3 million) at a Sattahip farm on the 29th of August. The ATM had been dumped at the location, just off route 331 Sattahip-Korat, on the 28th of August before being discovered and reported by the farm owner on the following day.

Officers, having identified the vehicles used by the suspects from various CCTV surveillance tapes, tracked the registration to a hire-car firm along the Sukhumvit Road between Sattahip and Pattaya. Investigating with the business, the ‘TCC Car Center,’ police promptly confiscated the two vehicles before interrogating the owner of the company over their recent use.

Under questioning, Mr. Akkhaphol Jansereekun [32], the business owner, explained that the two pickups in question had been hired out by three Serbian nationals (identified off official documents presented at the time of hiring) on two separate occasions, the 19th-20th and 25th-27th of August. On the second occasion, the suspects returned the pickup in the morning of the 28th of August, one day late. Mr. Jansereekun professed that the three men had not explained what they intended to use the vehicles for and that he consequently had no knowledge of their involvement in the ATM robbery. The two vehicles were a silver Toyota Hilux D4D and a blue Isuzu D-Max (the vehicle used in the robbery).

Obtaining the mobile phone numbers of the three suspects from hire-car documentation, officers were able to ascertain that two of the signals had been significantly active in the Srakaeo border province recently. Resultant investigations with the Aranyaprathet border crossing revealed that two of the suspects had crossed the border into Cambodia on the 28th of August, their current location unknown.

The third suspect has been traced to an unknown location in Bangkok and is being monitored by metropolitan police. Officers are now engaging with Cambodian authorities over the two fugitive suspects, while an investigation into the apprehension of the third man is reportedly ongoing.

Well Hugh, maybe you should raise the price you are selling your 12 year old son for at Sunee Plaza, so it is more in line with the going rate.

Good work in the end. It will not take long time before those 3 will be apprehended. In this, our world of today, if you have a name and an arrest warrant waiting, you are very likely to get caught.

So guys, enjoy your last days/weeks/months before you will end up for many many years in a Thai Prison where you have to shit in front of 20+ people, walk and sleep with the chains on your feet.

Enjoy your last freedom!

I agree with the sentiments below, som na na TAT, these are the 'quality' tourists that they have tried so hard to encourage to visit Thailand after making the Americans and North Europeans unwelcome by branding them as 'sex tourists'.

Crimes committed by third world foreigners are becoming more frequent. Congratulations TAT. You should be commended for your efforts to bringing desirable tourists to Thailand. No longer do we see European and North Americans coming to Thailand. Australians are also in decline. No shortage of Russians. The destruction of Thailand caused by the TAT will take many years to recover from. The TAT has become the biggest whore in Thailand. Sold out their country for a few baht, just like a street whore sells her xxxx.
