Pattaya, the 26th of August 2010 [PDN]: Chaired by Pattaya City Mayor Itthiphol Khunpluem, the preliminary Pattaya Halloween Festival meeting was attended by local administrators along with promotion and organising representatives.
Despite many details remaining unannounced, Mr. Khunpluem revealed that the Chon-Buri Provincial Administration had approved funding of Bt5 million for the event, while Pattaya City Hall would provide a further Bt1 million from the events and festivals budget.
Largely discussed at the event were numerous operational details regarding the staging of the popular festival, such as parking, layout, security and administrational procedures. In terms of festival events, Mayor Khunpluem proposed organisers focus on concert performances, themed attractions, exhibits and competitions involving lucrative prizes to encourage competition.
Pattaya has in recent years become renowned for its ability to organise and host some of the most popular national festivals and exhibitions, with Mayor Khunpluem urging involved parties working on the Halloween spectacle to take heed of the success of prior events in their bid to stage what is an annual attraction for the city.
Following the recent political turmoil in Thailand, the ongoing global recession and European debt crisis, Mr. Khunpluem added emphasis to the fact that festivals of this nature would help stimulate tourism to the area once again. He specifically referenced the need to improve domestic and regional tourism to the city, which has noticeably decreased in line with international tourists, stating that festivals of this nature, providing they are well organised, would help boast both Thai and Asian tourism in the Kingdom.

The Pattaya Halloween Festival 2010 will be held along Pattaya’s Beach Road over the 30th-31st of October. Further details of events and activities planned for the festival will be release closer to the event.

Dirk The Daring,
Soi Chaiyapoon is a privately owned street and its maintenance is up to the owner and their lawyer gang who has an office in the Soi. They are a real gang. You can see they are doing nothing besides playing that stupid chess in front of their office, looking for chances to rip people off.
Tens of thousands of potholes on Pattaya's streets.
Finish the homework first and FIX THE ROADS before are talking about any more festivals, markets or even - how ridiculous! - hosting the World Expo in this 2nd world standard city. I love it (mainly for the night life to be honest) - but too much is too much.
