Australian National Brutally Bashed & Robbed in Pattaya
Pattaya, the 22nd of August 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 9:00pm on Thursday, Lieutenant Colonel Wallop Kangtharathip (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of an assault in Soi 6, Second Road, Central Pattaya. A team of officers were immediately dispatched to the incident to investigate.
At the scene, Second Road end of Soi 6, officers were confronted by Mr. Ramin Nazari [38] an Australian national. Mr. Nazari was suffering from a severely swollen and bruised face, while he was also struggling to stand on his own, assisted by several locals and rescue personnel. He was immediately taken to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Proceeding investigations revealed that Mr. Nazari had been walking along Soi 6 towards Second Road, when he was randomly accosted by up to five Thai males. He explained that the five men brutally beat him to the ground before stealing approximately Bt5,000 in cash and a further US$400 from his waist-bag.
Investigations will now continue in the area in an attempt to identify and arrest the five offenders involved in the incident. Mr. Nazari has subsequently been released from hospital, urging police to apprehend the men responsible.
Editor’s note: Despite attacks of this nature, on any unsuspecting individual, being relatively prevalent in Pattaya, it is highly unusual to see such an incident occurring in a public area in the early evening.
The attack, provoked or not, shows the desperation of the offenders, who chose to attack in “broad-nightlight.” Hopefully several witnesses at the scene can aid police in apprehending the violent culprits before they offend again.

BTW if you do get attacked or feel that your about to be, grab someting as sharp as possible thats close to hand and lash and lash and lash out at the little mocha skinned fellas, inflicting as much wounding as you can!
Maybe by doing this it will deter them from attacking some other poor unsuspecting tourist!
