A half-foreign, Thai national, has been arrested by Pattaya police on Tuesday morning following investigations into suspected Ya-Ice dealings in the area.

Pattaya, the 17th of August 2010: At approximately 12:30am on Tuesday, Major Chot Lamom and Captain Jamrat Thongjinda (Pattaya Police Investigators) conducted an operation aimed at apprehending a known narcotics dealer in the Pattaya City area.

Following recent investigations into suspected dealings in the Banglamung district, Maj. Lamom and his team successfully apprehended Mr. Kringkrai Khongplume [28] at the Shong Apartment in Soi Chalermphrakiet 12.

Mr. Khongplume, a Thai national with unknown foreign heritage, was arrested after police instigated a sting operation on a suspected drug deal. In the bust, officers found an amount of 6.5 grams of the illegal narcotic Ya-Ice in his possession, along with a .38 calibre revolver and ammunition contained concealed inside his black-grey vehicle.

Under interrogation, Mr Khongplume confessed to owning all the confiscated evidence and accepted that he had been in the process of conducting a drug deal in the area. He explained that he had been selling the class-1 restricted drug, Ya-Ice, in Pattaya for several years, mainly targeting Thai youths and working girls.

Mr. Khongplume admitted to having sold Ya-Ice for between 2,500-3,000 baht per gram, revealing that he used the proceeds to substitute his lack of legal gainful employment.

Police have now remanded the offender in custody awaiting further judicial proceedings to commence. Investigations into Mr. Khongplume’s dealings are continuing in an attempt to further subjugate the illegal operation.

At first read my thoughts were the same, but had the foreign nationality been provided it would be different, no? say American-Thai national and it begins to pose no problem.

Like that Red Shirt prat, he is Irish-Australian but no one is having a nag at that labelling. Perhaps PDN should have put the other nationality, but in such an obvious statement I guess they didn't know it.

Whatever all drug dealers are scum and they are not linked to any one nationality but are a plague on all of us.

Why does it have to say foreign-Thai national ??? He is a Thai national !! So why do they have to refer him as foreign first. It should state Thai only. It must be all that bad falang blood he has inside him because Thai's don't deal drugs.... what a joke !!!
