Local police have apprehended a Pattaya “working girl” on suspicions that she had drugged a Danish national found unconscious in a Walking Street bar on Wednesday.

Pattaya, the 4^th of August 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 4:00am on Wednesday, Lieutenant Colonel Poomipat Nampootta (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of the suspected drugging of a foreign man in Walking Street, South Pattaya. A team of police was immediately dispatched to the incident.

At the scene, an unnamed beer bar in Walking Street, officers found a Danish national, Mr. Thomas Hansen [32] (alias) unconscious at the bar. The presence of two beer bottles and glasses on the bar containing a suspicious purple substance, later found to be crushed sleeping pills, led police to believe that he had been drugged.

Establishment staff revealed that Mr. Hansen had arrived at the bar with a Thai woman, who attempted to flee the scene upon Mr. Hansen becoming unconscious. Thankfully, the unscrupulous woman was detained by quick thinking staff and passers-by.

Investigations with the woman, now known to be Miss Parichat Thaisamak [39], revealed her in possession of two packets of a known prescription sleeping pill. Approximately six pills were missing from one of the packets.

Under interrogation, Miss Thaisamak confessed to drugging Mr. Hansen, explaining that she had drugged Mr. Hansen, but decided to leave the bar because he had begun to fall asleep. Bar staff then discovered the presence of the crushed substance in the glass, before detaining her as she attempted her escape.

At present, police speculate that Miss Thaisamak had intended to drug and rob Mr. Hansen of his possessions upon returning to his accommodation. The quantity of the drug administered to Mr. Hansen had caused him to fall asleep, become unconscious, prematurely.

Officers have now detained Miss Thaisamak for further interrogations, whilst the beer bottles and glasses have been confiscated as evidence in the case against her.
