Pattaya, the 30th of July 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 4:30am on Friday, Lieutenant Colonel Phatsa Detphakhul (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of a shooting incident near the Man Man Karaoke bar on Pattaya Third Road. A team of police along with the Sawang Boriboon Foundation were dispatched to the incident to investigate.
At the scene, rescue personnel rendered immediate first aid to Mr. Adisak Janpa [23], who had been shot twice in the leg and was bleeding profusely. Following initial assistance, Mr. Janpa was transported to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
Under interrogation, Mr Janpa, who is a member of staff at the Man Man Karaoke, stated that he had been shot by a group of unknown youths as he was running to assist a friend. Allegedly, the friend, a colleague, was involved in a physical dispute with the youths following a minor road incident. He had reportedly cut-off one of the group of offenders while riding his motorbike.

Mr. Janpa explained that he had been informed about the incident by a friend in the karaoke bar before he was shot at while running to assist. He reported only hearing the one gunshot, while he was hit by two bullets/shots.
At present, police speculate that the offenders may have fired a crude homemade gun at Mr. Janpa, due to his statement and the lack of a shell casing/s at the scene. Initial presumptions are that the gang of youths had been partying in the area and had been looking for trouble.
Investigations will now continue in an attempt to apprehend the violent offenders and confiscate the illegal firearm.
