Community Outreach Boxes Installed Throughout Pattaya

Under the command of local law enforcement authorities, over 200 red community outreach boxes have been placed around Pattaya in an attempt to gather valuable insight into the problems affecting individual areas.

Pattaya, the 17th of July 2010 [PDN]: In command of the operation, Colonel Natthawut Suwanla-ong (Pattaya Police Superintendent) and a team of officers have overseen the instalment of some 210 red Community Outreach boxes around Pattaya recently. The boxes were presented to the communities in an attempt to further gauge resident’s grievances and reports of a criminal nature.

Along with the already installed boxes, which have proved a successful facility to aid management of the “Community Outreach” program, Pattaya law enforcement authorities intend to install further boxes throughout the city within the next couple of months.

Colonel Suwanla-ong stated that the convenient aid had significantly assisted police in maintaining close contact with individual localities in Pattaya at the same time helping officers investigate cases of a criminal nature. He further urged residents to place their letters of grievance or information pertaining to crime in the boxes, helping authorities further suppress criminal acts and improve the area for all citizens and tourists.

At present, due to the success of the “letter box” campaign, Pattaya Police are currently in the research and investigation process of accessing the viability of positioning electronic monitoring systems in the most needed locations. Electronic monitoring, according to the colonel, will significantly speed police response times and help them to better manage the more problematic areas of the city.
