World Cup Celebrations End in Severe Motorbike Accident

Two people have been severely injured on Monday morning after a motorbike collided with a pedestrian along Pattaya’s 2nd Road. At present intoxication of the motorbike rider is thought to have contributed significantly to the accident.

Pattaya, the 12^th of July 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 5:30am on Monday, Lieutenant Colonel Natthaat Srithongphet (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of a severe motorbike accident near Soi 12 on Pattaya’s Second Road. A team of investigative officers and the Sawang Boriboon Foundation were dispatched to the incident to investigate.

Arriving at the scene rescue officers were confronted with the semi-conscious body of Mr. Kevin Claude [22] a French national, while another injured victim, Mr. Norikor Lgor [41] a Russian national, was being aided by a friend. A third victim involved in the accident, Miss Kaewta was remarkably unscathed in the incident and was being assisted by a crowd of onlookers who had gathered at the scene. Following a brief investigation, all three were transported to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

Investigation with witnesses at the scene revealed that Mr. Claude and Miss Kaewta had been riding past, boisterously celebrating the World Cup victory of Spain, when they collided into Mr. Lgor who had been crossing the road at the accident scene. Following the collision, the Yamaha Nuvo motorbike involved collided into a parked Honda Accord.

Although unconfirmed, police suspect the Mr. Claude had been intoxicated at the time of the accident. Investigations will continue once Mr. Lgor and Mr. Claude have made a full recovery.

From what I understand it was a French National wearing a spanish football shirt - surely he should get locked up for that alone.

He is twat, he could have killed someone, I hope he has a long term reminder of the accident, and I'm sure some of the comments below would not have been written if he had ploughed into you or a loved one.

I usually feel sorry for the bar girls who are injured on the back of the bikes that crash. That job is dangerous enough thanks to HIV, and unpleasant enough when you look at some of the complete tossers in Pattaya.
I spilled a bike with a bar girl on it. The accident was not my fault, but I still payed her doctor bills, (about 3000 baht) and gave her 10,000 baht because she could not work for 2 weeks, I wonder how many guys do that. probably not too many.
