Pattaya, the 2nd of July 2010 [PDN]: On Friday evening, along Pattaya’s Beach Road, Chon-Buri Governor Senee Jitkasem chaired the official opening of the festival to an expected and jovial crowd of locals and tourists alike.

Kicking-off the festival was a host of parades, which included marching bands, vintage & American classic car parades and a show by the Tiffany Theatre Company.
Over the four-day event, festivalgoers will be subjected to various exhibits of nature, culture, heritage and traditional influences from around the four eastern seaboard provinces of Chon-Buri, Rayong, Chantha-Buri and Trad.
Rayong exhibits will display the regions well-known pristine beaches, luscious fruits and calming, peaceful atmosphere. Chantha-Buri’s natural beauty, which includes tropical forests, mountainous regions, waterfalls and ancient temples will directly contrast to the exhibit for Chon-Buri, which will display the regions development into a glamour, luxury and prestige hotspot in Thailand. Lastly, Trad will exhibit its island heritage, natural beauty and rich wildlife.
In addition to the exhibits, a water-sports clinic is being held for locals and tourist to participate in the fun and entertainment, free-of-charge. Various national athletes and professional instructors will be on hand to teach participants a variety of water based activities.
The festival is expected to bring approximately 300,000 visitors to the region over the 4 days, inputting an estimated Bt1.6 million into the local economy.
