Official Announcement of “Power Plus Pattaya Marathon 2010”

The official announcement of the “Power Plus Pattaya Marathon 2010” was made at Central Festival on Wednesday morning. The annual event will take place on the 18th of July 2010 starting at the Pattaya City Hall.

Pattaya, the 30th of June 2010 [PDN]: Pattaya City Mayor Itthiphol Khunpluem chaired the announcement along with the Athletics Association of Thailand Vice-President Momluang Prasopchai Kasemsan and a number of official sponsors and affiliate private enterprises.

This year’s event was organised in conjunction with the Pattaya City Administration, Chon-Buri Provincial Administration, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Athletics Association of Thailand and main sponsors Power Plus Drink (Thai Beverage Co. Ltd.). Other sponsors of this year’s event include Central Festival Shopping Center, GMM Grammy and the Eastern Thai Hotel Association.

The five categories for this years’ marathon include;

- 42km Marathon (18 years +)

- 21km Half-Marathon (16-17 years)

- 10.5km Quarter-Marathon (15years -)

- Wheelchair Marathon (10.5km)

- Student Marathon (5km, registered participating schools)

All categories will start from the Pattaya City Hall with a wide variety of participants attending the internationally recognised event. This year’s marathon will see the competing of various participants from Japan, Kenya and national champions from Thailand.

Applications to participate in the marathon can be made at the Tourism Support Department of Pattaya City Hall, Tel: 038-2531-272 until the 12th of July or via the www.pattaya.go.th website until the 8th of July 2010.
