Brit Robbed by Thieving Gang of Katoey’s in Pattaya

Local citizens successfully detained a thieving gang of katoey’s early on Friday morning. The group had allegedly accosted and pick-pocketed an intoxicated British national.

Pattaya, the 18^th of June 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 00:10am, Captain Narongdet Tanaphoonsin (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified by a local resident whilst on patrol that a gang of 3 katoey’s had been detained after stealing money from a foreigner along Pattaya’s Second Road.

Arriving at the scene to investigate, Cpt. Tanaphoonsin found the 3 ladyboys being detained by local residents, whilst a large crowd had gathered in the vicinity to observe the situation. The three offenders, Mr. Thipakorn Surintham [25], Mr. Sakamnat Nawarat [20] and Mr. Premruthai Boonsai [25] had allegedly stolen Bt1,600 in cash off the British victim, Mr. Neil Front [44] whilst offering their sexual services.

In a police statement, Mr. Front explained that he had been leaving a bar in the area, admittedly intoxicated, when the 3 katoey’s in question approached and began to inappropriately touch him whilst offering their sexual services. One of the ladyboys allegedly stole the money from his back-pocket before all three attempted to flee the scene with the cash. Local residents apprehended and detained the trio after hearing Mr. Front’s distressed shouts for assistance.

The three offenders have now been arrested and taken to the Pattaya Police Station where detectives will interrogate them over the incident before remanding them in custody until further judicial procedures commence.
