Pattaya, the 9th of June 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 4:30am police Lieutenant Colonel Phatsa Detphakkul (Pattaya Police Investigator) was informed that a foreign couple have been assaulted by a group of Thai men on Rimpha Beach in Naklua. A team of officers and members from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue foundation were immediately dispatched to the incident to investigate.
Arriving at the scene, officers discovered the injured Mr. Viktor Mushchenko [33] a Ukrainian national and his distraught wife. Sawang Boriboon personnel immediately rushed Mr. Mushchenko to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital where he received emergency medical treatment for his facial injuries before proceeding to the Pattaya Police Station to give a statement with his wife.
Mr. Mushchenko revealed that he and his wife had been relaxing on the beach when approached by a group of three Thai men. The group had reportedly, immediately taken a confrontational stance with them, demanding for money or valuables to be handed over. Having nothing of any value on them Mr. Mushchenko stated that both he and his wife attempted to politely excuse themselves and tried to explain that they had nothing to offer, at which point Mr. Mushchenko stated that he was attacked by all three men who eventually fled the scene.

Remarkably, a later investigation of the crime scene with the victims revealed one of the offenders still loitering in the area. Police immediately swooped to arrest the man, who was handcuffed and taken to the Pattaya Police Station for interrogation, following a positive identification was made by the victims.
The offender, Mr. Wanlai Boonlua [32] explained to police that he and his two friends had been drinking Thai whiskey all night and had been attempting to steal money to fund the purchase of another bottle. He stated that he had been too intoxicated to comprehend what he was doing when they all attacked Mr. Mushchenko and that he did not understand what Mr. Mushchenko was trying to tell them.
Officers conducted a background check on Mr. Boonlua finding that he had been previously imprisoned on 4 occasions over various theft related charges. He had last been released from prison towards the end of 2009. Due to his reluctance to help in the apprehension of the two other offenders, Mr. Boonlua has been remanded in police custody awaiting further judicial proceedings to commence.
Way to make the guy wai a F-ing Monkey. He should be allowed 10 minutes of alone time with in the back holding cell with a bat.
Wai, my ass, he deserves a good flogging.
But now, when tourism is very low,and bars are empty, alot of them gonna have a money problem...
If I want to be robbed and attacked by lowlife scum, I can stay my hometown, no need to travel to thailand you know?
If I come to thailand it is to have holidays and feel safe, otherwise there is no point!
Well done to the PDN photographer for taking the piss out of this Ukranian tourist.
He has clearly been asked to wai the thief thus making him look like a prize twat.
Well done PDN.
