Pattaya, 8th June 2010 [PDN] At 12.30 pm Police Colonel Natthawut Suwanla-ong (Pattaya Police Superintendent) was informed that a foreigner had died at a house on 157/58, Somboonsuk Village, Soi Phaniet Chang 8, Central Pattaya, Sukhumvit Road, Nongprue. The details were recorded for their files before sending the deceased man to Banglamung Hospital with the medical team.
On questioning Mrs. Rattana Sawadrat [48], she told the officer that she had been a maid of the deceased man for over 2 years. She knew of his congenital disease, as she had witnessed him taking medication. Mr. Schmitz also suffered high blood pressure.
Before his death, Mrs. Sawadrat was cleaning in the house whilst Mr. Schmitz watched TV on the bed. At this time Mrs. Sawadrat heard a change in the sound of Mr. Schmitz’s breathing before seeing him choking.
Mrs. Sawadrat became frightened, running from the house in an attempt to seek help from a neighbour but found he had been died on her return.
The officer inspected the bedroom, finding prescribed medication from a doctor. The deceased man was sent to the forensic institution to determine the cause of death.
