Well I use a motorbike, but I understand it's danagers, mostly which come after sunset(certainly 99% of deaths) when I use Taxis especially when I drink. This could all be eliminated by enfocing their drink driving law - until then people will contine to die almost daily in Pattaya alone. Many times the culprit walks away unharmed and innocent people die. No one gets in a car or on a motorbike to die or kill others, but when you drink and drive that is what happens and most people are educated enough to understand that.

I don't understand why it is allowed and tolerated by the Police, as it would be a good source of income for the BIB, along with no helmet, licence etc - they have the technology to carry out road side tests, not that a fine of a few hundred baht would prevent this, it would need to be a heavier punishment - Prison and deportation if from abroad.

A deeply saddening story. Anybody on a motorcycle is taking a risk in Thailand. Personally I use the baht buses.
