3 Drug Mules Arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport
Bangkok, the 2nd of June 2010 [PDN]: The Thai Customs Department revealed the arrests to the media after if was confirmed that the three men, traveling independently, had been found with both Ya-Ice (crystal methamphetamine) and heroin in their possession, with a combined street value of close to Bt10 million.
The two Iranian men, traveling from Tehran onboard a Mahan Airways flight, were detained after customs officers had observed them acting extremely suspiciously. Both Mr. Alireza Fathiyazdan and Saeid Aghili were approached and randomly searched by customs officers at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Preliminary checks proved negative although when the men were subjected to a standard body X-ray the presence of a large amount of organic material was found concealed within their stomachs. Provided with laxatives the pair were found to have approximately 2kg of Ya-Ice concealed inside them, with an estimated street value of Bt7 million. They revealed that they had been asked to smuggle the drug into Thailand for a sum of between US$1,000 and US$2,000.
Thai Customs officers working at Suvarnabhumi Airport were also able to arrest, Mr. Qaisar Afzal Nadeem [34] a Pakistani national traveling from Lahore on board a Thai Airways International flight. The man was subsequently searched after appearing suspicious and found to have ingested over 800g of the illegal class-1 narcotic heroin, with a street value of approximately Bt2.4 million.
All three offenders are thought to have trafficked the illegal narcotics into the kingdom with the intention of selling the drugs within the country. The trio have now been arrested and will remain in police custody awaiting further judicial proceedings to commence.
Thailand’s Narcotics Control Board (NCB) has revealed that an increase in transnational narcotics trafficking syndicates have been investigated passing into and through Thailand over the last few months. Political uncertainty and the continuation of the current global economic depression has forced many Thai’s and foreigners into desperate measures, with Thailand often observed as a viable option to support the illegal business.
Since October last year, the Customs Department have arrested 47 drug traffickers at Suvarnabhumi Airport with narcotics worth more than Bt224 million ($7 million).

@ Bob, these people that get caught are poor people, have you ever been poor you half baked fuckwit ?
@ Paul Trumble, you may get off on imagining what can go up a rectum, but these people swallow the drugs, they don't shove them up their arse.
@ Street Justice, if everyone spent their time as you do, stuck at home in front of a PC, the whole worlds crime situation would be solved.
Good arrest, and it's incredible these fool smugglers would take this risk considering the Thai drug laws.
Seems like every week there's some criminal deviants coming from Iran.
Sure seems to be as much sex and drugs and rock and roll in Iran as anywhere.
I only wish that the Immigration at BKK could do a better job of turning back all the sickos like Joran Vander Sloot. It could have been quite dangerous for some unlucky Thai flowers
Now it is time for these un-educated extreamly poor drug mules to realise what they have done.
The money they were offered is a shit load for the average paki but its not enough to risk spending your final years in the Bangkok Hilton.
