Areca Lodge & Mind Resort Held Pattaya’s Handicapped

Staff and administrators from Pattaya’s Areca Lodge and Mind Resort recently visited the “Karoonyaves Place” institution for the handicapped in Banglamung to aid in raising awareness of the centers desperate plight and help feed the residents.

The event, co-organised to celebrate the birthday of Mrs Chanthana Lunjakornkul one of the institutions most valued committee members, was an outstanding success with fun and good times had by all.

Both Areca Lodge and Mind Resort staff volunteered to provide and serve food at the event which also included a variety of entertaining shows and stage performances for the approximately 400 strong crowd.

The “Karoonyaves Place” handicapped institute is desperately over-crowded, understaffed and underfunded. At present, with nearly 400 residents, there are 20 disabled or handicapped people under the supervision of only 1 care-worker. Shortages on most essential items occur on a regular basis with inconsistent and irregular donations their primary source of income.

The recent event, although organised to celebrate the birthday of one of the institution most valuable members, was also aimed at raising awareness of the centers desperate plight and severe underfunding.
