Pattaya, the 1st of June 2010 [PDN]: Pattaya City Mayor Itthiphol Khunpluem along with the Thailand’s Deputy Commerce Minister Klitsada Piamphongsarn chaired a meeting to announce the organisation of a shopping festival along Pattaya’s Beach Road. The event, tentatively title “Pattaya Shop on the Beach,” will involve both local and Bangkok businesses gathering to display their merchandise to the residents and tourists of Pattaya.

Running the entire length of Pattaya’s Beach Road the shopping extravaganza will involve approximately 800 vendors – 680 from Bangkok and 120 from Pattaya – along with a variety of fun games and activities designed to give the event a festival-like appeal. Also scheduled will be a musical performance/concert by the RS Company.
Mayor Itthiphol revealed that the shopping project was organised in coalition with the Ministry of Commerce, who had recently successfully finished staging a similar event along Silom Road in Bangkok. The Pattaya shopping festival was decided upon as an ideal place to stage the second event due to its increasing importance to the tourism and trade industry of Thailand.

The “Pattaya Shop on the Beach” will be held over the weekend of the 5th and 6th of June, starting at approximately 10:00am and finishing a 12:00pm on both days, whilst the Beach Road will be closed to motorists to ensure safety and security is appropriately maintained.
Anyone, visiting or staying in Pattaya over the weekend is encouraged to come along and witness this one of a kind shopping spectacular, “where bargains are sure to be had by all.”
