Pattaya, the 13th of May 2010 [PDN]: We met him with some of his staff at Zico’s Brazilian Restaurant on Pattaya Beach Road, and observed that some Russian, European, English and American tourists immediately recognized Bob, and wanted photographs with him. At 35-years of age, and weighing in at a heavy but very fit looking 178 Kg, Bob Sapp is at the peak of his physical performance.

At the age of ten years, Bob took up American football and was well on the way to be a champion when he suffered an un-repairable leg injury, but not being one to give up, he switched to wrestling. Later he then he turned to boxing, which really gave him a name as a “freestyle martial arts fighter,” so as well as taking on shows in America, Bob Sapp started to travel overseas.
It was not long before he drew the attention of the Japanese entertainment industry, and in a bout against a famous Japanese Sumo Wrestler, over 80% of Japanese TV viewers watched this very entertaining sporting contest. Now, Bob Sapp has a huge following in Japan, with his endorsements on hundreds of products, and where he is in seventy TV commercials. Soon, he will be watched by most Japanese TV viewers in a fight with a champion Japanese Sumo wrestler, who is coming out of retirement especially for this event.

Bob Sapp is known as a free-style martial arts fighter, who is famous all around the world. He has been on over 4,000 TV shows, 150 travel channels, and is continually travelling. His busy schedule includes six small meals a day, fitting in his daily gym training and continually having to keep in tune with new sleep patterns as he moves around the world. The Korean media are also very interested in having Bob as a regular media personality, but with his tight world wide itinerary of shows, he admits that he is stretched to the limit.
When Bob started to become quite famous, his sponsors said that he had too much of a friendly personality, so he had to modify his image into that of “Mr. Tough Guy.” However, Bob Sapp loves meeting people and is looking forward to meeting the disabled and disadvantaged kids when he has time to return to Pattaya. As well as being on the cover of “Time” magazine, he is also starring in his 18th movie production titled “Conan the Barber,” which is being produced in Bulgaria and due for release next year.
