Water Pistol Sellers Report Promising Sales for Songkran

Despite the political turmoil and violence afflicting the capital at present, Pattaya and Chon-Buri businesses, especially those focusing on the lucrative water gun market, have reported above average sales in preparation for this years Songkran festivities.

Sriracha, the 12^th of April 2010 [PDN]: Mr. Wimon Likhittham of the Wichan Toys shop in Sriracha, a large manufacturer and distributers of plastic water pistols and pump action water guns, reported that all lines of the popular water toys had been selling remarkably well this year with prices ranging from 50-500 baht considered to be very affordable.

Wichan Toys sells a wide variety of water based weaponry, ranging from the small hand pistols designed in a range of colours and designs, to the larger backpack reservoir guns that seem to be the most popular for this year’s festival. Due to the government initiative preventing the sale of any high powered guns this year, Mr. Likhittham believes that the backpack gun is the choice of the market due to the fact you get much more ‘bang for your buck’ so to speak.

When asked about the effect of the continuing political situation in Bangkok, Mr, Likhittham explained “the instability in the capital is actually aiding the eastern seaboard beach resorts as the tourists and residents seem to be fleeing the capital over the festive period, to avoid the destabilised situation in Bangkok.” The districts of Bang Saen, Bang Phra, Sriracha and Pattaya have all reportedly experienced an upturn in tourism revenue over the last few weeks.

somebody's got to get a grip of some of the idiot's who ruin songkran for the majority....don't hold your breath though!
in my opinion,the only way forward is to severe all ties with thailand and do 1 for the entire songkran festival.

Some of those water guns are so powerful that they can push your eyeballs right out of their sockets.

I remember last year seeing a few guys on Soi 8 with their eyeballs dangling on their cheeks. I remember thinking this is pure madness. And yet even though they were rendered partially sighted, they continued their water fights until their eyeballs had become disconnected.

You couldn't make it up, could you?
