Chiang Mai, the 30th of March 2010 [PDN]: On Tuesday a combined team of Thailand’s Department of Special Investigations (DSI), Local Police and Transnational Crime Unit officers stormed a condo in the Northern Thai province of Chiang Mai. The condo’s owner, Mr. Roger Leslie Pettit [67] police suspected to be involved with child sex and drug related offences.
Following the raid, police successfully apprehended Mr. Pettit at the same time finding evidence in the form of 42 methamphetamine tablets (Ya-Ba), a computer containing paedophilic images, various assortment of illegal pornographic CD/DVD’s and sex related objects including various forms of aphrodisiac.
Mr. Pettit has been charged with various child sex, child pornography, illegal items and narcotics related charges and has been remanded in police custody awaitingfurther judicial proceedings to commence.
Further to Mr. Pettit’s arrest, the joint taskforce also arrested a Thai man between 18-20 years of age in front of the condominium complex. The man was arrested in possession of 9 methamphetamine (Ya-Ba) tablets and has been charged with drug possession.
