The teenage gunman and the majority of his gang who killed a rival gang member and injured several others on the final day of the Pattaya International Music Festival (PIMC), discovered to have been ya-ba users, have now been arrested, with a manhunt in place for the remaining gang members who escaped.

Pattaya, 27 March 2010, [PDN]: acting on a 2pm tip off as to the whereabouts of the hideaway of the teenage gang suspected of being involved in the shooting incident on the last night of the PIMC, a police team jointly led Police Colonel Theeraphol Jindaluang (Chon Buri Police Deputy Superintendent), and Police Colonel Nanthawut Suwanla-orng stormed house no. 368 / 2553, Moo3, Takien Tia, Banglamung.

Equipped with an arrest warrant, the police surprised a group of 10 female and male teenagers staying together in the house. However, as soon as the police entered, the gang members fled in different directions, some climbing over the walls and into the back yard. The police did, however, manage to arrest five, namely Wanchai Khotamorn, 19, the gang-leader from Trad, Wanchai Phatthasiri, 20, Mac, 17], and two girls, A and Kung, both aged 17. Police also discovered a shotgun in the closet and 95 ya-ba pills with smoking kit.

Police Colonel Jindaluang told press that Khotamorn had confessed under interrogation that he had been the shooter in the incident causing the rival gang member’s death and severely injuring two more. Apparently, animosity between the rival gangs had started at the concert; the assailants were also hyped-up on ya-ba and therefore keen to fight. Khotamorn admitted to firing 5 bullets, whilst his escapee friends, Thanathip Pranee, 20, and Pon had fired over 10 bullets from the .22 and .38 directly at their rivals.

The police spokesman also said there is a manhunt out for the rest of suspects who had fled and because they had firearms will be be dealt with severely. Four of the unarmed gang members also arrested admitted to have joined in the fray and that they all used ya-ba, some of which was sold.

I suppose I feel a little safer but I would feel even safer if anyone can let me know where I can purchase a weapon like the one being held in the photo's. Not interested in ya-ba but the shotgun would help me feel much safer when in LOS.

great job, pattaya police. you still don't know how to secure an area you are planning to enter with an warrant in your hand? how many suspects were able to escape because of your "unprofessional" approach?
