Pattaya’s “Little Wales Restaurant” For Big Value

Share
We see many bars & restaurants come and go over the years, but this small English style eatery & watering hole has adopted a policy of keeping prices low, which is sure to keep their customers coming back regularly.

Pattaya, Tuesday 23rd March 2010, PDN: Welshman Glynn Jones is not your typical businessman, as he was formerly a Professor of English at a university in Bangkok, but after some health problems, he decided to retire to Pattaya with his good wife Khun Sasimon “A.” The decision to start the “Little Wales A-Restaurant & Bar” with his wife was easy, as Khun “A” has had over 16-years of experience managing restaurants, which included restaurant cooking in Malaysia. Accordingly they selected a site halfway along the western side of Soi Chaiyapruek-1 Road near the far end of Jomtien Beach, which is also easily accessible from Sukhumvit.

However, their concept of a combination bar and restaurant was different to most, with the emphasis on serving food and drinks at affordable prices, that would invite their customers to call daily. Furthermore, as an expert in Thai cuisine, Khun “A” has come up with a Thai menu especially for their western clients, which involves a very minimum amount of hot spicy herbs. While they can also supply a wide variety of English style food for special occasions, their emphasis on Thai foods is to give western diners a chance to try Thai food dishes that they will find to be pleasant on their taste buds.

Prices are more than reasonable, with minor dishes being under 100 baht, and main courses costing not much more and very rarely being over 200-baht, with drinks being another pleasant surprise at around half the going price normally charged by most restaurants. Likewise at the small terrace bar in front of the “Little Wales A-Restaurant” the popular brands in cans of beer only cost 40-baht, and this is a very sensible business strategy.

On their official opening night Glynn and his wife Khun “A” presented a very wide selection for both English and Thai food dishes, and it was the attention to detail, with a wide range of condiments that even included “pickled onions” and tasty English mustard. The concept of keeping all prices very affordable is a good one, as the object of any food & beverage business is to keep your customers coming back and you can keep going to the “Little Wales A-Restaurant & Bar” daily, without exceeding your budget. Not only this, but the restaurant opens at 10.00 am in the morning, so why not drop in and enjoy an English Breakfast for only 100-baht, or choose a tasty sandwich from between 50-80 baht. Whatever you decide you are sure to be pleased with the low prices and friendly home style service offered by the “Little Wales A-Restaurant & Bar.”

Odd a Taffy being Professor of English.

Anyway the lady wife and I will attempt to patronise your establishment sometime from April the 11th.
At those prices I might even buy her something.
