Record Breaking Pattaya International Music Festival

Share
Countless thousands of super keen spectators, gathered along much of the beachfront of Pattaya Bay, to be part of what is recognized as the longest “Beachfront Music Festival in South East Asia.”

Pattaya, Saturday 20th February 2010, PDN: The Chonburi Provincial Government, Pattaya City Hall, and b Pattaya City Hall and the Tourism Authority of Thailand gave their full support to this project. This International Music Festival was a “multiple whammy” with five major stage venues positioned along Central and South Pattaya’s beachfront areas, giving everyone three full nights of entertainment.

The main venue is the big stage facilities adjacent to South Pattaya’s Bali-Hai Pier, where as with the other stage shows, events get started at 6.00 pm every night and go through non-stop until after midnight. The other programmed stage venues are on the beach front opposite Pattaya Central Road, and also at Soi-4 closer to North Pattaya, plus another at the big Central Festival Plaza on Beach Road. These were also supported by other venues, such as the “Hardrock Hotel” on Beach Road, plus Ska Reggea, Easy Listening, and well over ten other entertainment stands that were strategically stretched along Pattaya Beach Road.

All of the bigger stage venues featured world class singers, (and in many cases their supporting dance troupes), from most of the South East Asian countries, which made these an extravaganza of top talent. Visitors from Thailand and overseas were treated to some of the best singers around, all for free, and at accommodation prices that made for a very pleasurable holiday experience.

Yes, – there has been a tremendous amount of money, time and effort put into the staging of this highly successful International Music Festival, but the long term benefits will be enormous. New visitors and even the entertainers themselves will make it a point of returning in future years, because Pattaya offers the ultimate as a holiday destination, and the entertainers look upon it as a break away from their normal “big city” work routine.

Whoever came up with the idea of making this not just another big music event, but the longest “Beachfront Music Festival in South East Asia” was a brilliant strategist, as this immediately puts it in front of other similar events in Asia. Likewise, the international beauty contest that will feature the longest catwalk along Pattaya Beach Road, will again be set apart from other such events. This is certain to attract a huge amount of overseas media attention, so it is certain that Pattaya has very cleverly getting to the top of the world tourism industry by clever thinking.

Dear PDN, There seems to be some confusion between past and future tense, in this article. Was it written before or after the event?
