Pattaya, the 19th of March 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 8:00am, police Major Suriya Woriwong (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of a shooting incident outside the Audition Pattaya Pub near the Bali Hai overpass in South Pattaya. A team of police and rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation where dispatched to the scene immediately.

At the location, outside the popular nightspot, police found the body of Mr. Kittiwat Louthai [24] from Sakon Nakhorn. Mr. Louthai was lying on the ground in front of the pub, still conscious, with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. He was also suffering from a serious head wound that was bleeding profusely over his face. Medical officers immediately rushed him to the Banglamung Hospital after performing on the spot first-aid.
Mr. Louthai stated to police at the scene, that he and his girlfriend had emerged from the premises at closing, when 2 Thai youths started to heckle his girlfriend. Becoming annoyed both Mr. Louthai and his girlfriend retorted to the abuse at which point Mr. Louthai was struck on the head by one of the youths using a large rock. Following the assault the other youth pulled a gun on Mr. Louthai, shooting him in the shoulder before they both fled the scene.

Police, recording the evidence, have now begun an investigation into the shooting. Officers speculate that the two offenders may have been regulars of the pub and may have had an issue with Mr. Louthai in the past. Mr. Louthai and his girlfriend will be interrogated further once he has fully recovered from his injuries.

The police don't have any problem spotting a farang working as cashier. (He was probably trying to protect the cash before any of his trusted Thai employees became his silent partners)
Great job Pattaya Police! The new police chief is to be commended for his fine work. No point in wasting time on real crime. You know, like concealed weapons, drugs, violent crimes and crime against farang.
Audition Disco closes at 8:00 AM and the police don't notice. Maybe they are paying the police for a SPECIAL license.
It may be some time before Thailand improves and qualifies as a 3rd world country.
I would not consider living in Pattaya if I wasn't already here. Can't sell out and leave because the economy sucks and there aren't any buyers now.
It seems almost every thai youth walks around with a gun!
