Drunken Brits Involved in Spectacular Pattaya Car Accident

Share
Two intoxicated British tourists were involved in a serious car accident on Tuesday, when the pickup they were travelling in crashed into a parked car rolling several times. The two men, remarkably, only suffered minor injuries, however; both vehicles were written-off as a result of the accident.

Pattaya, the 16th of March 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 1:00am on Tuesday morning, Dongtan police investigator, Lieutenant Colonel Ekkadit Simoon was notified of a major traffic accident involving two foreigners on the Thappraya Road, Pattaya. A police investigative team and Sawang Boriboon Foundation rescue personnel proceeded to the scene to render assistance.

At the location, police discovered a black Isuzu D-Max pickup severely damaged sitting in the middle of the road. Further up from the pickup, approximately 50 meters, a badly damaged black Toyota Yaris was also present in the middle of the road. The two foreign men who had been inside the Isuzu were waiting at the scene, fortunate to have only suffered minor injuries in the accident. Both men were found to be British nationals and in a severely intoxicated state.

Police interviews with an eyewitness, the security guard from outside the Royal Hill Condominium complex on Thappraya Road, stated that the Isuzu had been travelling along at speed when it suddenly swerved into the parked Toyota. As a result of the collision the Isuzu then rolled several times before coming to a stop nearly 50 meters up the road.

Police subsequently arrested both men, taking them to the local Dongtan police station. The driver of the pickup has been charged with driving under the influence, negligent driving and will be held responsible for any compensation claim filed against him by the owner of the Toyota that was damaged in the accident.

Why do you alcohol retarded fools keep an about the 2 men, only 1 was driving.

So, if you have a designated driver and are over the legal limit and he has an accident whilst you are a passenger, does that make you a bad guy too ?
You people should think before you touch the keyboard, you wouldn't come across as being so stupid.

A deeply saddening case. Unfortunately a few British citizens do come to Pattaya and abuse alcohol. If they just stuck to a few bottles of Cheers they would have been O.K. but oh no, they have to hit the hard stuff and then think they can drive willy-nilly all over the place. Personally I hope that the financial cost hits them hard and that they suffer from some kind of delayed painful affliction for the rest of their lives. In that state they could have run over a dog or even a Thai.
