Intoxicated Russian Tourist Beaten Unconscious in Pattaya

Pattaya police, responding to an assault notification on Sunday afternoon, found the unconscious body of an unknown Russian tourist. The man had been drinking with two men who subsequently assaulted him, knocking him unconscious before stealing his wallet and phone.

Pattaya, the 14^th of March 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 3:00pm on Sunday, police Captain Kriengkrai Buakla (Pattaya Police investigator) was notified of an assault that had taken place in front of the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort in Soi Wongamat, Naklua. Capt. Buakla proceeded to the scene to investigate the incident along with rescue officers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation.

Arriving at the scene, Capt. Buakla found the unconscious body of an unknown Russian man, believed to be between 30-40 years of age. Dressed in a pair of shorts with no t-shirt, the man appeared to have suffered a blow to the head and face from a blunt object and smelled strongly of alcohol. Rescue officers present at the scene immediately rushed him to the hospital for treatment.

A witness, who had informed police of the assault, stated that he had seen the victim drinking with two other young males [approximately 25 years of age] when one of them proceeded to hit the victim over the head with a plank of timber several times. Following the man being rendered unconscious the two men stole his wallet and mobile phone before fleeing the scene on a motorbike along the Pattaya-Naklua Road.

Investigations will continue once the unknown victim recovers from his injuries and an interview can be conducted.

Russians like to drink and they can be overly friendly when so doing, to the point that they abandon caution. It is obvious that the infantile comments claiming a sexual motive are the product of some seriously disturbed individuals. If the victim had been focused on sex, he surely would not have been drinking in public but would have made a beeline to Boyztown to select one of the hairless barely legal adolescents that the English and Gernman sexpats are so fond of.

What a load of crap! I happened to be walking past with my wife and there was an ambulance there from The Sawang Boriboon Foundation and the medics treated the bloke at the scene only. The Policeman took his notes then left followed by the ambulance. One presumes because he had no recourse to pay.

I like the photo of the Ruskie slumped on his bleacher. The whole scene doesnt exactly look like the French riviera or venice beach as the Tourist authorities claim Pattaya to be.Looks more like a construction site on the black sea.

A deeply saddening story. Russian homosexual men who cruise for Thai men for 'bum-sex' should expect trouble in Pattaya. It would be far safer for them to go directly to the homosexual area of Pattaya near the Post Office and seek homosexual men there.
