Kuwaiti Attacked on Pattaya’s Walking Street

A Kuwaiti national was hit across the head with a beer bottle in Pattaya’s Walking Street last night, leaving him unconscious outside a discotheque.

Pattaya 8th March 2010 [PDN] Police Lieutenant Colonel Klitsakorn Thongin, Pattaya Police Investigator, received a call that a foreign tourist had been assaulted at the Marine Discotheque on Walking Street. The officer, along with the Sawangboriboon Rescue Team, rushed to investigate.

At the scene, Mr. Karem [30], a Kuwaiti national, was found lying unconscious in front of the discotheque due to an attack by a man of the same nationality. After administrating first aid, the man was sent by the officer to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital for treatment.

When Police questioned Mr. Karem’s friend, who was waiting to provide a statement, they were informed that, prior to the incident, he and Mr. Karem had sat at the same table as the offender having a conversation, when a quarrel broke out. The offender grabbed a beer bottle, hitting Mr. Karem on his head, and knocked him unconscious, before running off. The friend gave chase in the hope of catching the offender, but was unsuccessful.

The police have taken a statement from the injured man as evidence and will be on the look out for the offender in order to bring him to justice.
