My deepest sympathies for the family and friends of this gallant officer who paid the ultimate price serving his community.

I agree Kevlar vests with ceramic inserts should be provided, however these garments do not offer much protection in the case of a side shot under the arm.

I think it is very interesting you never see the officers with ballistic vest. It is a tragedy for anyone to be killed in a gun fight especially an innocent bystander as we have seen in the past. these drug pedaling punks are all to often protected by high power people, they should all be hunted down and given live in prison with no parole no mater how they are! RIP.

I guess the punishment for robbery and murder is not so harsh in Thailand since this guy who is only 29 has done his time for this crime. Or maybe it is just the falangs that can get the lengthy jailtime and actually serve their time.

In the last three years Thailand has became a dangerous place and its all down to drugs. A zero tolarence attitude should be taken, take out all the major players , be very hard on the small time players and users. Those who kill should be killed. A great country going down hill fast.

You know PDN, you could do something nice and set up a collection fund for his widow and family. If you do, I'll bring in the first 1000 baht. A policeman is a policeman no matter where they live or work and their deaths are a tragedy.

Big mistake. Now they opened a war which will be very ugly in the next view weeks. Remember this line. From now on the motto will be shoot first and ask after. One death Officer is one to much. They will get their revenge. That is sure as the amen in the church.

I can see why the Police prefer to round up the beggars and street vendors. Very sad that the officer had to die in his efforts to clean up an out of control bunch of gangsters who have no respect for life over money.

Maybe the police should bring in the military to get rid of Thailand's gun-toting vermin?
